A handyman can also be called handy-person a fixer or handy worker. A handyman is a person skilled in a wide range of aspects around the home.

Do You Need Qualifications to Be a Handyman?

These are, in our opinion, the qualifications necessary in order to be a handyman. However, to be a good handyman, you need many better skills than average skills and have great customer service in order to charge a premium.

Can a Handyman Pull a Permit?

A handyman or handywoman can pull permits for your project if they have a letter from the homeowner authorizing them to act as an agent on your behalf. 


Homeowners can also pull permits on a property they own, although, permits are not always necessary on every home improvement project. 


If permits are required, drawing may possible need to be drafted depending on the nature of the project. The town jurisdiction in which the property resides will be able to tell you what types of projects require permits or not. 


​A handyman can also team up with a local contractor or partner with someone holding the proper licensing in order to pull the permits necessary as an alternative route from the homeowner pulling a permit.
